Toyota Canada has announced the prices of the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid, which is all-new for 2026, and the prices are coming down, not up, compared to the 2025 version.

The 2026 RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid has a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $48,750. With fees and levies included, that brings the starting price to around $52,408.

The outgoing 2025 version has a starting MSRP of $51,715.

What is the RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid?

This is the plug-in hybrid version of Toyota’s popular compact SUV, which is entering its sixth generation for 2026.

Toyota Canada previously announced the prices of the non-PHEV 2026 RAV4, which is assembled in Canada. The regular RAV4 is powered by a self-charging hybrid system.

The RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid version gets the company’s next-generation PHEV powertrain, which pairs a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine, two electric motors, a drive battery that’s larger than before and a high-output charger.

Power is increased by 22 horses to 324 hp compared to the 2025 version.

Toyota estimates an all-electric range of 80 kilometres. The 2025 version was good for 68 clicks on electric power.

The RAV4 comes standard with a 7-kW on-board charger and has a dual-voltage charging cable for Level 1 and Level 2 charging capability via a J1772 connector.

The XSE Technology Package trim gets an 11-kW on-board charger and has Level 3 charging capability via a CCS1 connector.

All versions sold in Canada come with all-wheel drive.

All versions come standard with Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, the automaker’s latest suite of advanced driving safety features.

The compact SUV is also loaded with tech, including a digital driver display and a centre touchscreen, numerous USB charging ports, Smart Key System with push button start, heated front seats, power-adjustable driver’s seat, heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel, dual-zone automatic climate control and more.
