What could be more pleasant than blasting around on a warm day with the roof of your convertible down and feeling the breeze.
There aren’t many low-cost options to choose from in Canada as many automakers stopped producing convertible cars, but there are a few examples to pick from. This year, for a bit of fun, we’re including on this list not just cars, but also SUVs, pickup trucks and autocycles that offer open-top motoring fun.
Below is a list of 2026 model year vehicles in Canada that can be driven topless with starting price tags of less than $60,000.
The starting advertised price includes the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP), plus fees and levies. Fees and levies may vary by location. This list is based on Ontario advertised prices. Dealers may set their own prices and automakers may adjust their prices through the year. Check with your local dealer for an exact price.
The list is ordered from most expensive to least expensive.

Ford Bronco
Two-door starting price: $54,110 (MSRP of $51,515)

The Ford Bronco off-road SUV is available in two-door and four-door body styles and with a variety of powertrains. The base models are powered by a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine with 300 hp and 325 lb.-ft. of torque with an available seven-speed manual or 10-speed automatic transmission. Jeep Gladiator
Starting advertised price: $52,890
The Jeep Gladiator is an odd sort of vehicle for this list as it is a pickup truck. However, its roof and doors come off, making the off-road capable truck a serious contender for anyone looking for low-cost open-top motoring fun. The base model is powered by a 3.6-litre V6 engine with a part-time shift-on-the-fly 4×4 system.

Starting advertised price: $48,225 (MSRP of $45,830)
The convertible Mustang builds on the base model coupe, with a 2.3-litre EcoBoost engine that produces 315 hp and 350 lb.-ft. of torque. The iconic pony car also has selectable drive modes, as well as a customizable 12.4-inch digital cluster and a 13.2-inch centre touchscreen, along with a host of tech features, including track apps if you want to measure how you do on the track, plus active noise cancellation and much more. If you need more power, you can also opt for the V8-powered GT.

Mini Cooper Convertible
Starting advertised price: $47,282 (MSRP of $43,990)
Mini’s convertible was redesigned recently and features a minimalist look intended for a fun-first experience. The top can be opened, closed or be somewhere in between with a sunroof mode. The base model has 161 hp, which won’t win you drag races but the car makes its key fun points in being lightweight and tossable around the corners. If you need more power, there are also the Cooper S and Cooper JCW versions.

Mazda MX-5 RF
Starting advertised price: $45,842* (2025) (MSRP of $42,450)
The MX-5 RF is the hard-top convertible roadster version of the MX-5, also known as the Miata, which appears a little lower on this list. It’s powered by a Skyactiv-G 2-litre four-cyilnder engine with 181 hp, and comes standard nine Bose speakers with AudioPilot 2 noise compensation technology, a sport suspension with Bilstein shock absorbers (manual transmission only) plus all the standard features found on the soft-top MX-5. Mazda Canada is (as of Feb. 27) advertising 2025 models right now. This article will be updated when the 2026 model arrives.

Two-door starting price: $43,995
Four-door starting price: $57,290
The Jeep Wrangler has been tackling off-road trails for 85 years and remains popular to this day. It is available with several powertrains, with the base models powered by the 3.6-litre Pentastar V6 offering a manual transmission. The SUV allows you to remove the doors and roof, if the mood so strikes you.

Polaris Slingshot
Starting advertised price: $39,549 (MSRP of $37,149)
The Polaris Slingshot is not a car; it is a side-by-side three-wheel motorcycle, also known as an autocycle. It makes this list because you drive it like a car, with a steering wheel not a handle bar, a brake and gas pedal (plus a clutch pedal if opt for the stick shift), and the driver sits beside the passenger, not in front. Keep in mind, autocycle laws vary from province to province in Canada. Some provinces allow you to drive them with a full-fledged driver’s licence, albeit with some rules such as requiring a proper helmet, while some provinces require a motorcycle licence and others prohibiting them altogether.
