Audi plan to give several of its cars and SUVs much more tech-forward interiors.
The automaker announced recently upcoming updates to several models, including the A6, A6 Sportback e-tron, Q6 e-tron, A5 and Q5.
In each of the above-mentioned models, the cars and SUVs will receive comprehensive hardware and software updates, which Audi said are intended to improve the driving and ownership experience of these vehicles.
The updates include an all-new multimedia interface (MMI), an updated multifunction steering wheel, optional contoured seating, new drive select functionality, optional integrated dashcam, expanded driver assistance features, upgraded voice control capabilities and increased connectivity.

A6
The A6 entered its ninth generation for the 2026 model year, and will gain these new new features as a mid-model year update in 2026, expected to arrive in the second quarter of 2026.
There will, however, no longer be an S6 available. Anyone looking for a sportier midsize car from Audi will instead have to step up to the RS 6 Avant performance.

A6 Sportback e-tron and Q6 e-tron
The electric A6 Sportback e-tron and Q6 e-tron won’t get the new tech features until the 2027 model year, but buyers won’t have to wait long.
The 2027 model year is expected to be available in the second quarter of 2026.

A5 and Q5
The A5 compact sedan and the Q5 compact SUV will gain the updated new digital features and content for the 2026 model year, beginning with vehicles available in the first quarter of 2026.

What’s in the new MMI
The new MMI features a three-display setup.
Audi said the updated interface will feature a more consistent appearance and familiar touchpoints throughout the vehicle as well as in the myAudi app, giving owners more clarity and a more useable structure.
A 3D model of the owner’s vehicle will also appear on the different displays, reflecting even the car colour.
Audi said the updated systems will have fewer lists and more graphical representations of applications.
The voice-activated digital assistant will get new animations and a clock display will be docked in the upper-left corner of the touch display.
The driver display will also have fewer icons, with owners able to customize what’s on the screen, with three unique views available. Selections can be made via a steering-wheel-mounted “view” button.
