The Kicks Play was discontinued at the end of the 2025 model year and Nissan Canada is offering a temporary cash purchase discount through February on remaining units.

Nissan Canada is sweetening the deal on remaining 2025 model year Kicks Play vehicles.

The deal is so sweet, in fact, it makes the subcompact SUV cheaper than the least expensive new car in Canada.

The automaker has a $2,600 cash purchase bonus offer, available at participating dealers, on the 2025 Kicks Play S – the SUV’s base model. The discount can’t be applied to finance or lease offers, and is available until March 2, according to the Nissan Canada website.

The 2025 Nissan Kicks Play has a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) of $22,598.

Once you tack on various fees and levies, advertised as $2,799 on the online configurator, and apply the cash discount, that puts the total price at $22,797.

That’s cheaper than the cheapest new car in Canada today.

The Hyundai Venue is the lowest priced new car in Canada for 2026 with a starting price of $24,996 (MSRP of $21,999 plus fees and levies).

The Kicks Play’s discounted price also makes it cheaper than last year’s lowest priced vehicle, which happened to be another Nissan vehicle.

The 2025 Nissan Versa had a starting price of $23,417 (MSRP of $20,798). The Versa was discontinued following the 2025 model year, but the online configurator remains open for the car as of Feb. 6.

The Kicks Play is also being discontinued at the end of the 2025 model year.

The Kicks Play existed just for one year. It was originally the Kicks, but when Nissan introduced the second-generation Kicks in 2025, it kept the old version around for one model year and renamed it the Kicks Play.

Full model details and terms and conditions of the cash discount are available on the Nissan Canada website.
