Canadians rushed out in record numbers to buy Porsche’s 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman before it became too late.

Production of the current-generation 718 mid-engine sports car twins ended near the end of 2025.

Both also enjoyed a record sales year in Canada during their final model year, particularly the Cayman.

Porsche Cars Canada announced its year-end sales figures for 2025, delivering a total of 10,010 vehicles through the year. That was a decrease of 3.5 per cent from the year before.

The 718 Boxster convertible had 468 sales in 2025, up from 451 the year before.

The 718 Cayman coupe had 506 sales in 2025, a big jump from the 379 units sold in 2024.

Overall, the 718 twins make a small portion of Porsche’s Canadian sales. The company’s top sellers in Canada in 2025 were the Macan (3,877 vehicles sold), Cayenne (2,551) and 911 (2,037).

“Porsche continues to grow its strong presence across the country,” said Trevor Arthur, president and CEO, Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd., in a news release. “The opening of the Porsche Experience Centre Toronto this summer has allowed customers and fans to get more intimately familiar with the brand and celebrate its deepening roots in Canada.”

What’s next for Boxster and Cayman?

As mentioned above, the current-generation 718 Boxster and Cayman have gone out of production already, but the company is planning replacements for both.

Porsche plans to make the future versions electric, but some reporting suggests there could be gas-electric hybrid versions made as well. It may be a few years before the replacement versions become available to buy.

The outgoing Boxster and Cayman represent Porsche’s entry-level sports car models, with base models starting at about half the price of a 911.

Porsche’s Canadian online configurator for the 718 Boxster and 718 Cayman indicates (as of Jan. 24) there may be some availability left, and potential customers should speak with a dealer or use the company’s online Porsche Finder for available cars near them.
