The Bugatti Veyron is one of those cars automotive history is not likely to soon forget.
The car is recognized as the original modern-day hypercar; it wears a halo rivaling even the McLaren F1 and Ferrari F40.
Every Bugatti creation since has essentially been an evolution of the car that brought the Bugatti brand back into the conversation.
And now, 20 years since the Veyron debuted, Bugatti has created a one-off tribute to it.
The Bugatti F.K.P Hommage is just the second car created by Bugatti’s bespoke Programme Solitaire, which produces a maximum of two cars per year and never recreates any one of them.
That means the F.K.P. Hommage, while sharing so much of the Veyron likeness, is as exclusive as it gets.
The original Veyron had 1,001 hp, while the Super Sport version that came later had 1,184 hp.
The Bugatti Chiron, which replaced the Veyron and rode on an evolved version of the W16 platform, had 1,479 hp. The Super Sport version, including the Super Sport 300+, pushed that power output to 1,578 hp.

Who is F.K.P.?
The acronym for the car is for the late Ferdinand Karl Piëch, who conceived the Veyron while he was Volkswagen Group’s chairman.
He was riding a bullet train in Japan and sketched the W engine configuration that went on to power Bugatti’s cars.
“Prof. Dr. Ferdinand Karl Piëch was a man who saw the impossible not as a roadblock but as a challenge,” said Bugatti managing director Hendrik Malinowski in a news release. “His vision for Bugatti was absolute; 1000 horsepower, 400 km/h top speed, all-wheel drive, and refined enough to arrive at the opera in a tuxedo or a ball gown.”

About the F.K.P. Hommage
The homage car continues the evolution of Bugatti’s W16 car platform. One could say it is a Chiron Super Sport made to look like a Veyron
The car has the same engine that powered the Chiron Super Sport, a quad-turbo monster with 1,578 hp (1,600 Euro horses). It is the same engine that allowed the Chiron Super Sort 300+ to exceed a speed of 300 mph.
Numerous upgrades compared to the original Veyron were given to the powertrain for the increased power.
The car’s body is unmistakably Veyron, but also refined. The horseshoe grille flows into the bodywork.
There are larger air intakes in the front to feed the stronger engine. The Veyron’s air ducts behind the occupants’ heads are maintained.
The car rides on 20-inch front and 21-inch rear wheels.

On the inside, the F.K.P. Hommage has the Veyron’s leaning-back posture and dropping belt line, but with more refinement.
The car has a unique steering wheel with a bespoke centre console.
Bugatti said the car has custom couture fabrics, which were woven exclusively in Paris, for further personalization.
There’s a 41-millimetre timepiece integrated in the dashboard, at the request of the car’s future owner.
