Toyota Canada has announced pricing for the all-new RAV4, its popular compact SUV, which for the 2026 model year is exclusively available with electrified powertrains.

Choices include a standard hybrid powertrain and a plug-in hybrid version as well.

Pricing has only been announced for the hybrid version, which goes on sale in Canada this month (January 2026), while RAV4 Plug-in Hybrid pricing will be announced closer to when the PHEV version goes on sale sometime this spring.

Prices are also climbing for 2026, with the new starting price being up around $4,000 over the outgoing 2025 model.

The 2026 RAV4 has a starting Canadian manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $37,500, which with fees and levies comes to $41,158.

The 2025 gas-fed model started at $36,806 (MSRP of $33,685), while the entry-level hybrid version started at $39,756 (MSRP of $36,635).

What’s new

The 2026 RAV4, which is assembled at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada in Ontario, has all-new design, an updated powertrain, more technology and an updated suite of safety features.

The 2026 RAV4 gets Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid powertrain featuring a 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine mated with an electric motor for a total output of 236 hp (up from 219 hp in the 2025 model).

All RAV4s sold in Canada also have all-wheel drive.

Fuel economy ranges depending on trim. The base LE model achieves the best fuel efficiency with city/highway/combined fuel consumption ratings of 5.1/6.0/5.5 L/100 km, while at the other end of the spectrum, the Woodland trim gets ratings of 5.7/6.7/6.2 L/100 km. Other variants fall in between those two.

Safety and tech upgrade

The new RAV4 also gets Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, the company’s latest suite of advanced safety features, which includes a pre-collision system and lane tracing assist among other features.

The RAV4 also debuts the Arene Software Developed Vehicle platform, a new software developed by Woven by Toyota, which forms the foundation for the SUV’s safety features and its multimedia system.

On the tech side, the new RAV4 gets the automaker’s newest Toyota Multimedia system, which integrates 5G network connectivity.

The system allows for personlized user profiles and wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, new voice assistant functions with faster responses, and turn-by-turn navigation now available on the digital gauge cluster.

Another feature of the new software is a built-in Drive Recorder, which will use the vehicle’s cameras to capture and record driving events (think crashes).
