It’s probable that owners of Bugatti’s multi-million-dollar Tourbillon will never take their 1,775-hp hypercars out in the snow.

But they can if they want to, as evidenced by the company’s chief executive officer.

Bugatti Rimac CEO Mate Rimac recently posted a video of himself, alongside another car with another driver, driving a pair of Tourbillon prototypes in the snow.

“Five years of hard work to get the Tourbillon from a blank sheet of paper to road testing. We are testing it on various tracks and testing facilities for two years now but road testing in real conditions is something else,” Rimac said in a Instagram post. “It is such an incredible experience to drive this car and hear the V16 scream! Still some work to be done but we’re getting there…”

In another video, Rimac compares driving the Tourbillon in snow to earlier testing, from 2011, of driving an EV in similar conditions. He’s the founder of electric hypercar brand Rimac, which is now part of the Bugatti Rimac joint venture.

About the Tourbillon

Bugatti plans to build a total of 250 of these cars, each of which will be hand-assembled Bugatti Atelier in Molsheim, France.

The car is powered by a hybrid powertrain featuring an all-new naturally aspirated 8.3-litre V16 engine that can spin up to 9,000 rpm. The engine alone produces 986 hp (1,000 European horses).

Then there are three electric motors, two at the front and one at the rear, producing another 789 hp (800 Euro horses).

In total, the car produces 1,800 European horses, or 1,775 hp by North American measurements.

The car is launching for the 2026 model year and the starting price is 3.8 million euros ($6.13 million Canadian).
