The McLaren W1, the company’s latest hypercar, will get its North American auto show debut in Toronto when it appears at the 2026 Canadian International AutoShow.
The event, happening at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, happens from Feb. 13 to 22.
The W1 is a successor to McLaren’s F1 and P1 cars, both of which will also be shown alongside the W1.
The McLaren trio is being presented by McLaren Toronto and the Pfaff Group.
“We couldn’t be more thrilled that the McLaren W1 is making its North American debut right here in Toronto. Having the P1 and F1 supercars on display alongside is a global rarity. Honestly, seeing these three legends together again? It’s the kind of opportunity that doesn’t present itself very often- and we are very proud that McLaren chose to do this here in Toronto,” auto show general manager Jason Campbell said in a news release.
About the W1
The McLaren W1 is a hypercar that combines cutting-edge aerodynamics, a lightweight body and a powerful hybrid powertrain. The mid-engine car produces 1,258 hp and 988 lb.-ft. of torque. Most of the power (916 hp) comes from a twin-turbo 4-litre V8 engine, with an electric motor providing an additional 342 hp.
The top speed is limited to 217 mph (350 km/h), the same as in the P1. While the top speed has not increased compared to the P1, improvements to aerodynamics, chassis, traction and more would make the W1 superior on the track compared to the P1, which itself was already extremely capable.
The W1’s zero to 200 km/h is said to arrive in 5.8 seconds and zero to 300 km/h in 12.7 seconds.
It is the fastest-accelerating and fastest circuit-lapping road-legal McLaren ever.
The W1 is limited to 399 customer cars worldwide and has a price tag of about $2.8 million (Canadian).
The W1, P1 and F1 will be shown in the Pfaff McLaren Toronto display on Level 300 of the convention centre’s North Building.
