The Polestar 2 electric car is no longer available in Canada.
The electric vehicle maker has pulled the Polestar 2 out of North America and there are no new models left on dealer lots in Canada.
The car is manufactured in China and therefore subject to Canada and U.S.’s 100 per cent tariffs on electric vehicles made in China.
The automaker told this blog there are a number of certified pre-owned Polestar 2s available in Canada, for those who are interested.
“The Polestar 2 has been instrumental in the success of our brand, with over 175,000 vehicles manufactured to date, and many happy customers around the world,” a company spokesperson said via email. “However, we constantly evaluate the needs of our consumers in individual markets, and with a surge of interest in our Polestar 3 – and now Polestar 4 – we are concentrating our efforts to prioritize these products for our North American customers.”

Polestar 4 deliveries begin in Canada
In mid-December, the company announced deliveries of the first Polestar 4s have begun in Canada.
The Polestar 4, a coupe-like SUV, launched for the 2026 model year in Canada, with customer ordering beginning this past summer.
“From our retail partners to our employees and our loyal customers, I’m extremely proud and excited for the delivery of Polestar 4 to Canadian customers,” said Hugues Bissonnette, head of Polestar Canada, in a news release.
The initial Polestar 4 customer deliveries happened in Vancouver, Toronto, Brossard, and Québec City.
Bissonnette said the Polestar 4 and Polestar 3 give Canadian customers two unique SUV offerings.
Full model details are available on the Polestar website.
