Porsche has created a limited-edition commemorative 911 in honour of the man who designed the original.
The automaker unveiled the 911 GT3 90 F.A. Porsche on Dec. 11, which would have been the 90th birthday Ferdinand Alexander (F.A.) Porsche, grandson of company founder Ferdinand Porsche. While his grandfather and father were automotive engineers, F.A. Porsche was a designer.
The new commemorative model was designed with help of F.A. Porsche’s youngest son, Mark Porsche, and features numerous heritage elements.
Only 90 will be produced – one has already been spoken for by Mark.
Customers will be able to buy the car in April 2026. It comes with an exclusive Porsche Design Chronograph 1 special edition watch and a weekender bag. The price tag is $387,000 U.S. (at today’s exchange rate, that puts the Canadian price tag at $533,270).

Design elements
The car was inspired by the G-Series 911, which F.A. Porsche drove in the 1980s.
It features an exclusive paint finish called F. A. Greenmetallic.
The car also gets an exclusive label on the A-pillar bearing a new Paint to Sample and Paint to Sample Plus mark.
The car rides on Sport Classic wheels painted in satin-gloss black and are inspired by the classic Fuchs rims. The wheels include fine details such as a central locking mechanism and the automaker’s 1963 crest on the wheel hub covers.
The grille on the trunk lid gets a galvanized gold-plated badge.

Interior elements
The interior features Chalk Beige decorative stitching and seat centre panels featuring a special F. A. Grid-Weave fabric complementing the Truffle Brown Club leather upholstery. The F.A. Grid-Weave is also on the glove box, board briefcase and reversible mat in the luggage compartment. The fabric consists of five colours, black, green, truffle brown, cream and Bordeaux red yarssns.
“I’m sure that my father would have loved this very special 911,” Mark Porsche said in a news release. “Through many details, we have incorporated my father’s personal preferences into this exciting project. The F. A. Greenmetallic paint created especially for this model is reminiscent of the Oakgreenmetallic of his 911. The F. A. Grid-Weave fabric used for the seat centres echoes the pattern of his favourite jacket.”

Powertrain
The car is based on the 911 GT3 with Touring Package, which is a more discrete version of the GT3, and includes an extendable rear spoiler.
The car is powered by the same motor as all GT3s, a naturally aspirated 4-litre flat-six engine with 502 hp and 332 lb.-ft. of torque.
And, you’ll notice in the photos, the car has an available manual transmission.
The car is built by Porsche Sonderwunsch and production will begin in the second half of 2026. Buyers will work with the division to further customize the car to their preferences.
