It turns out you can have Chevy’s top performance machine and still save a few bucks at the pump, too.
Natural Resources Canada released the fuel consumption rating for the all-new 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X, and despite the hypercar’s prodigious power output, it still manages better fuel efficiency than the slightly less powerful ZR1 with which it shares many mechanical components.
Being a plug-in hybrid helps the ZR1X in this regard.
Official NRCan fuel consumption figures for the ZR1X are (city/highway/combined) 19.2/12.7/16.2 L/100 km.
Granted, those numbers aren’t exactly what you’d brag about to your friends on the local eco-council, but this is a car with 1,250 hp.
The powertrain gets 1,064 hp out of a 5.5-litre twin-turbo V8, same as in the ZR1, plus it gets another 186 hp from a front-axle electric motor.
Corvette fuel economy ratings
For fun, let’s look at the fuel consumption ratings for the entire Corvette lineup.
Fuel consumption figures (city/highway/combined) are as follows:
- Stingray (490 hp) – 15.1/9.4/12.5 L/100 km
- Z06 (670 hp) – 19.4/11.4/15.8 L/100 km
- E-Ray (655) – 15.1/9.7/12.7 L/100 km
- ZR1 (1,064 hp) – 19.5/13.1/16.6 L/100 km
- ZR1X (1,250 hp) – 19.2/12.7/16.2 L/ 100 km
There you have it, the ZR1X is more fuel efficient than the ZR1 and only slightly worse than the Z06.

Fastest American car at Nürburgring
The ZR1X is also the fastest car from an American manufacturer around Germany’s famous Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack.
The team at General Motors managed to lap the track in the ZR1X in a time of 6:49.275 minutes.
The ZR1 is no slouch either, being the second fastest American car there, with a time of 6:50.763 minutes.
The next closest American car at the track is the Ford Mustang GTD with a time of 6:52:072 minutes.
Canadian ZR1X price
The online configurator for the ZR1X is still closed on the Chevrolet Canada website, but the automaker has dropped the starting price figure on there.
The ZR1X coupe starts at $315,960. That includes the manufacturer’s suggested retail price (MSRP) plus various fees and levies and the estimated luxury tax.
That puts the ZR1X at around $50,000 more than the ZR1.
