You can now order a Dodge Charger R/T even if you can’t have one yet

Production of the SIXPACK-powered 2026 Dodge Charger R/T will begin in the first quarter of 2026.

The same day that Stellantis announced production has begun on the all-new gasoline-burning Dodge Charger Scat Pack, the automaker also opened the order books in Canada for the less-powerful, less-expensive Dodge Charger R/T.

While the Scat Pack, in two-door varieties, is now officially rolling off the Windsor assembly plant’s assembly line, the R/T is not.

Even so, you can now place your order for one.

Stellantis said production of the two-door and four-door versions of the 2026 Dodge Charger R/T will begin in the first quarter of 2026.

The Charger R/T is powered by the automaker’s 3-litre twin-turbo SIXPACK (inline-six) engine, which produces 420 hp and 468 lb.-ft. of torque.

R/T joins Scat Pack and Daytona

The R/T joins the gasoline-burning Charger Scat Pack, which is already in production in two-door varieties and a four-door version will be added soon.

The Scat Pack’s more powerful SIXPACK engine produces 550 hp and 531 lb.-ft. of torque.

The Charger lineup also includes the Charger Daytona electric car, which is also produced in two- and four-door versions.

For 2026, the electric car will be available with just one powertrain version, the Charger Daytona Scat Pack. The dual-motor EV produces 670 hp. The Charger Daytona R/T with 496 hp is being discontinued following the 2025 model year.

All versions of the Charger come standard with all-wheel drive.

A nifty trick on the SIXPACK-powered Charger Scat Pack is the car has on-demand rear-wheel-drive functionality. At the push of a button, the car will send 100 per cent of the car’s torque to the rear wheels.

“The Dodge Charger lineup delivers freedom to choose the perfect muscle machine, from 420 to 670 horsepower to an internal combustion or all-electric powertrain to a classic two-door or practical four-door model, without sacrificing performance or attitude,” Dodge CEO Matt McAlear said in a news release. “The Charger R/T delivers the most standard horsepower of any muscle car, a perfect addition to the multi-energy Charger muscle car lineup that is all about the power of choice.”
