Montréal kicks off Canada’s 2026 auto show season and organizers are promising a big event this year.

The 2026 Montréal International Auto Show (Le Salon de l’Auto de Montréal) will run from Jan. 16 to 25 and is expected to feature approximately 30 automotive brands, including the return of two German luxury carmakers.

BMW will be making its first appearance since 2020, while Audi will have its first showcase since 2019.

Confirmed brands, so far, for 2026 include: Allard, Audi, BMW, Buick, Cadillac, Campagna, Chevrolet, Chrysler, Dodge, Felino, FIAT, Ford, GMC, Hyundai, Infiniti, Jeep, Kia, Lamborghini, Lexus, Lincoln, Lotus, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Ram, Subaru, Toyota and Volvo.

Auto show organizers say more automakers will be added and should be announced once agreements are finalized.

“The Montréal Auto Show has once again succeeded at reinventing itself this year while staying true to what makes it unique: passion, innovation, and human connection. The public wants an experience, they want to be amazed, to touch and to explore. The brands are responding to this with remarkable enthusiasm. The 2026 show promises a renewed, immersive experience capable of bringing together visitors of all ages and backgrounds,” said Bertrand Godin, race car driver, road safety expert, and auto show spokesperson, in a news release.

Themed zones

This year’s auto show features three themed zones. These include the St-Hubert Family Zone, Overlanding Zone and Performance Zone.

The family zone is intended as a family-friendly area with an indoor electric mini-car test track for children from Freddo Toys Canada, a play area and interactive activities.

The overland area is based around off-road driving and adventure camping. Here, visitors will see vehicles designed for exploration and self-sufficient camping, as well as specialized accessories for outdoor enthusiasts.

The performance area will be in a brand-new hall this year. Here, visitors will be able to check out some 30 tuned vehicles, each one a showcase of craftsmanship and the owner’s passion.

EV test drives

The electric vehicle test drives are back this year, through a collaboration with CAA-Québec and PowerQ. This outdoor feature allows visitors to test drive and learn more about EVs.

The Montréal Auto Show will be held at the Palais des congrès de Montréal.
