Stellantis is joining the North American Charging Standard party.

The automaker announced it is adopting the NACS charging port standard for select battery-electric vehicles.

Many other car companies have also begun utilizing NACS hardware with their EVs.

NACS is the charging port used by Tesla, and the adoption of the NACS-style charge port will give Stellantis BEVs access to Tesla Superchargers.

The company said adoption will begin in North America in early 2026, followed by Japan and South Korean in 2027.

Availability will begin in 2026 with existing EV models, including the Jeep Wagoneer S and Dodge Charger Daytona, as well as the soon-to-go-on-sale Jeep Recon, plus other future vehicle models.

Details are scant for now. Stellantis said it will announce network access details and information about adapters for current BEVs at a future date.

“This collaboration underscores Stellantis’ strategy to offer freedom of choice by supporting vehicles that fulfill customer requirements and meet consumer demand. By unlocking broader access to charging infrastructure, Stellantis gives customers more choice, more coverage and more control over how, where and when they power their BEVs,” the company said in a news release.
