Kia had been offering glimpses of the upcoming second-generation Tulluride ahead of its official reveal, and now Kia’s flagship SUV has been fully revealed.
The next generation Telluride, a three-row SUV available in seven- and eight-seat configurations, is launching for the 2027 model year. Its public reveal happened at the 2025 Los Angeles Auto Show.
Canadian market details have not been announced.

Turbo or hybrid power
The 2027 Telluride will be available with two powertrain choices, an internal combustion engine only one and a hybrid electric one.
ICE powertrain
The ICE version features a 2.5-litre turbocharged engine that produces 274 hp and 311 lb.-ft. 0f torque. This represents an increase of 49 lb.-ft. over the outgoing ICE version.
The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and the SUV is available with front-wheel or all-wheel drive.
The ICE powertrain has a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds. A tow hitch is standard on the X-Pro trim and available on all others.
X-Pro all-wheel-drive models feature an electronic limited slip differential (eLSD), which calculates driving conditions and controls power distribution from front to rear and left to right wheels, or a centre differential lock can keep the front-rear torque split at 50:50.
Hybrid powertrain
The hybrid powertrain combines the 2.5-litre turbocharged engine with electric motors and a 1.65-kWh lithium-ion battery to produce a total of 329 hp and 339 lb.-ft. of torque. Compared to the outgoing Telluride, that’s 39 hp and 77 lb.-ft. more.
The hybrid gets a six-speed automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Dynamic torque vectoring is standard. Kia said the system improves handling and stability by leveraging braking and motor control.
Kia estimates the hybrid Telluride will achieve a city-highway combined fuel economy of 35 mph (6 L/100 km), and to be able to drive 965 kilometres (600 miles) on a single tank of gas.
The hybrid model has a towing capacity of 4,500 pounds.
The hybrid also has Stay Mode, which uses the hybrid powertrain’s battery pack to operate climate control, cabin lighting, stereo and other vehicle systems for about 20 minutes or until the battery is drained to about 20 per cent without having to kick in the gas engine.

Other changes
The new Telluride is also getting rack-mounted motor-driven power steering (the outgoing model has a column-mounted unit). Kia said this new setup improves feedback and is quicker to respond to driver input, increasing precision and handling, such as in cornering, but also creating better high-speed stability.
The second-gen Telluride is also getting bigger.
Overall length is growing to 199.2 inches (up 2.3 inches) and the wheelbase is 116.9 inches (up 2.7 inches). This gives the new Telluride more cargo volume and more leg room for the second and third rows.
There are also new tech features coming to the Telluride.

Many trims to choose from
In the U.S., the 2027 Telluride will be available in LX, S, EX, SX, SX-Prestige, X-Line and X-Pro trims. It will be available there in the first quarter of 2026.
