Toyota GR Corolla gets more standard features in 2026

The hot hatch features all-wheel drive with a three-cylinder engine producing 300 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque.

The 2026 Toyota GR Corolla hot hatch is now available in Canada with the base model gaining more standard features.

The price, however, also ticks up by $2,130 to a new starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $50,045. With fees and levies included, that brings the 2026 GR Corolla to an estimated starting Canadian price of $53,703.

What is the GR Corolla?

The GR Corolla is is no regular Corolla hatchback.

The car was created by the folks from Toyota Gazoo Racing (GR).

It features a turbocharged 1.6-litre three-cylinder engine producing 300 hp and 295 lb.-ft. of torque and the rally-spec GR-Four all-wheel-drive system.

Buyers can choose a six-speed manual or eight-speed automatic transmission.

The car also has a sport-tuned suspension, front and rear Torsen limited slip differentials, disc brakes with slotted rotors and more.

What’s new?

The base Corolla Core model gets several new features for 2026, including a wireless charging dock, heated front seats upholstered with sport suede and accent stitching, dual-zone air conditioning and a hood bulge.

Other standard features include 18-inch black alloy wheels, red painted brake calipers, brake cooling ducts, heated steering wheel, Toyota Smart Key System with push button start, Toyota Multimedia system with Service Connect, Safety Connect, and Remote Connect features, an eight-inch driver screen and a 12.3-inch multimedia screen.

Moving up to the Premium trim gets you 18-inch matte black alloy wheels, carbon fibre roof, a Toyota Multimedia system upgraded Drive Connect, eight-speaker JBL audio system, head-up display, sub-radiator, and front and rear parking sensors.

The Core model is available with a stick shift only while the Premium is available with either a manual or automatic transmission.

The Premium model with the automatic transmission adds an intelligent clearance sonar system and full-speed dynamic radar cruise control.

Starting Canadian prices are as follows:

Core – $53,703 (MSRP of $50,045 plus fees and levies)
Premium MT – $61,025 (MSRP of $57,367)
Premium AT – $63,245 (MSRP of $59,587)
