The Nissan Pathfinder is getting a bit of a makeover for 2026.

It’s not a new generation, but a refresh of the current one, which is bringing a new front- and rear-end design, redesigned interior, an upgraded Platinum grade and more standard tech features.

The current Pathfinder was one of several models Nissan paused shipping into Canada from the United States due to Canada’s automotive counter-tariffs on U.S.-made vehicles.

Nissan Canada said we’ll get the 2026 Pathfinder starting in the spring.

Pricing wasn’t announced, but it will be interesting to see how prices are adjusted for 2026. The 2025 model was in that sweet sub-$50,000 starting price point, which is quite competitive in the midsize three-row SUV segment. Watch for pricing to be announced closer to the 2026 Pathfinder’s Canadian on-sale date.

About the updated Pathfinder

Let’s explore what’s new on the 2026 Pathfinder, starting with the looks.

The front and rear fascias are updated, bringing the model closer to more recently launched Nissan models such as the Murano and Kicks.

The SUV also gets satin exterior badges and a new colour, Baltic Teal, as seen in these photos.

Interior design

The Pathfinder’s dashboard is restyled, which now includes a larger touchscreen, measuring 12.3 inches.

“PATHFINDER” is embossed below the touchscreen.

The Platinum grade gets a new seat quilting pattern, new wood-toned interior trim and other refinements, Nissan said.

On the outside, the Platinum grade gets new 20-inch wheels and the roof rails are black instead of silver.

Technology

As mentioned above, the Pathfinder gets a new 12.3-inch infotainment screen on all grades. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity is standard.

The standard wireless charging dock was redesigned and is said to offer faster, more consistent charging, with power increased from five to 15 watts. It also features a cooling fan to reduce the phone’s heat build-up as the device charges, and magnetic phone positioning keeps the device in place.

The HD Intelligent Around View Monitor, which is standard, is also upgraded with the inclusion of two camera systems. There’s front wide view, which provides a 180-degree view to the front and sides of the vehicle, and the invisible hood view, which provides a virtual look through the vehicle’s hood and engine bay. Both are intended to help the driver navigate tight spaces.

Rock Creek grade

The more rugged Rock Creek grade is back as well. It features a suspension tuned for off-pavement and off-road driving, a lifted ride height and all-terrain tires.

It also has unique visual elements such as different front bumper and grill, LED fog lights, a tubular roof rack, grade-specific leatherette seats and Lava Red interior stitching.

New for 2026, the Rock Creek gets a panoramic moonroof, wireless phone charger and a 12-volt power outlet in the cargo area.

The basics

All Pathfinders are powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine with 284 hp and 259 lb.-ft. of torque and feature standard intelligent 4×4. Power is sent to the wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission, which includes paddle shifters.

Towing capacity is rated at 6,000 pounds (2,721 kilograms).

Idle start-stop is standard and drivers can switch the system off at the push of the button.

The cargo area has 470 litres of storage space behind the third-row seats. The cargo area expands to 2,279.5 litres with the second and third rows lowered.

Nissan’s Latch and Glide system can tip and slid the second-row seats for easy access into the third row. Nissan said this can even be done with a child seat installed.

The Pathfinder can be had with eight seats or with seven if you prefer middle-row captain’s chairs.

There’s also a motion-activated liftgate for easy access into the cargo area.

All grades get the Nissan Safety Shield 360 suite of safety features, ProPilot Assist and intelligent cruise control.

Nissan said the updated Pathfinder is integral in the company’s Re:Nissan recovery plan.
