The Jeep brand will have existed 85 uninterrupted years in 2026.

To celebrate, the company is planning a yearlong series of “Airdrops” of unique Wrangler models.

The first was unveiled Nov. 12 and there will be more revealed over the next 12 months.

The first of these Airdrops is the 2026 Wrangler Moab 392.

The Moab 392 is powered by a 6.4-litre hemi V8 engine with 470 hp and 470 lb.-ft. of torque and throws aside any claims that the Hemi V8 is being discontinued. And, of course, there’s 4×4 traction.

“The first release in our series is the Jeep Wrangler Moab 392 edition, a purpose-built powerhouse that delivers exceptional performance. Engineered with a no-frills, back-to-basics philosophy, it proudly reflects the core legacy of the Jeep brand,” said Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf in a news release. “Our community made their voices heard, and we listened. The 6.4-litre Hemi V8 will remain a defining force within the Jeep lineup.”

Besides celebrating the brand’s 85th anniversary, the Moab 392 also marks the 60th anniversary of the Easter Jeep Safari, hosted by the Red Rock 4-Wheelers based in Moab, Utah.

What’s different on the Moab 392?

The Hemi engine under the hood is not the only special feature of the Moab 392.

The SUV rides on 17-inch beadlock-capable wheels wearing 35-inch all-terrain tires.

It has a 4.56 axle ratio, 2.72:1 Selec-Trac full-time four-wheel-drive transfer case plus a two-mode dual exhaust, cold-air intake hood with water separator and more.

There’s a body-colour hardtop, rock protection sill rails, mold-in-colour fender flares and black tow hooks.

Optional hardware available include Sky One-Touch powertop, an 8,000-pound warn winch and all weather mats.

More to come

Jeep said we can expect more special model reveals over the next 12 months. The company said it has sold more than seven million Wranglers.

“Each product release will embody the boldness, authenticity and unapologetic spirit that defines our brand,” Broderdorf said. “It’s an ongoing tribute to the capability, freedom and adventurous DNA that have shaped our brand for generations.”
