The Lexus LX has to do one thing really well, and that’s to ensconce its occupants in luxury.
Even its trim names, like Premium and Executive VIP, betray the full-size SUV’s mission. You could call it the SUV equivalent of Lexus’ flagship sedan, the LS, but built to comfortably transport up to seven people, and be equally comfortable at a red carpet gala or somewhere off road.
Lexus’ flagship SUV is available in two powertrain versions, the LX 600 and LX 700h.
For 2026, the LX 700h is gaining a new Luxury grade (there’s already an LX 600 Luxury available) that promises to give all seven occupants the luxury they expect.
The 2026 Lexus LX 700h Luxury features the following:
- 22-inch alloy wheels
- Shift-by-wire system
- Front and rear hydraulic suspensions
- Semi-Aniline leather upholstery
- Front massage seats, heated and ventilated front- and second-row seats, and third-row power folding and auto-arranging seats
- Heated exterior mirrors
- Easy close doors
- Illuminated entry system
- Eight USB charging ports
- Lexus courtesy logo illumination
- Heated and leather-wrapped steering wheel
- 25-speaker Mark Levinson premium audio system
- Rear-seat entertainment system with wireless Bluetooth headphones and transmitter
- Digital display rear-view mirror
- Cornering lamps
- Windshield wiper de-icer
- Smart Key System with push button start
- Active sound control
- Panoramic View Monitor with a multi-terrain monitor system
While luxurious indeed, the Luxury trim is not the most luxurious version of the LX 700h. That title belongs to the LX 700h Executive VIP grade.
Executive VIP features
Lexus calls the LX 700h Executive VIP trim the the ultimate, prestige SUV. This one features only two rows of seats and four seats total, so nobody will be squeezing into a third row.
The Executive VIP builds on the Luxury trim and adds:
- Cool box
- 10-way power adjustable driver’s massage seat and eight-way power adjustable front passenger seat
- Power adjustable front passenger headrest
- Rear VIP headrests, rear passenger seat cushion length adjuster, rear massage seats, rear knee airbag, rear seat semi-Aniline arm rests and a power right rear seat ottoman
- Four-zone automatic climate control
- Rear VIP climate control with seven-inch screen,
- Front and rear wireless charging docks
- Wood door trim
- Rear quarter glass manual sunshades
- Advanced Park system
Powertrains
As noted above, the flagship SUV is available with two powertrains.
The LX 600 features a 3.4-litre twin-turbo V6 engine mated with a 10-speed direct shift automatic transmission with paddle shifters and drive mode select. The powertrain produces 409 hp and 479 lb.-ft. of torque.
The LX 700h pairs the 3.4-litre twin-turbo V6 with with an electric motor for a total output of 457 hp and 583 lb.-ft. of torque.
