It’s not every day that Canadians have a chance to buy a car that Americans don’t.
But in 2026, we’ll have access to several such vehicles from a pair of Korean car brands.
There are also other vehicles, but this article focuses on the Korean-brand models only.
Kia EV5
Kia officials have made it official the EV5 is not going to be sold in the U.S. in 2026.
In Canada, the 2026 Kia EV5 electric SUV will launch in the spring of 2026, Kia Canada said.
The EV5s slated for the Canadian market are made in South Korea.
Pricing hasn’t been announced yet, but Kia said this is one of three cost-accessible EVs that will arrive in 2026. The automaker expects the EV5 to accelerate EV adoption by breaking the affordability barrier.
The EV5 promises to have a spacious interior with seating up to five.
Buyers will have battery capacity options of 60.3 kWh or 81.3 kWh.

Kia EV4
Reporting in the United States, as of late October 2025, suggests the Kia EV4’s launch there will be delayed.
As per Kia comments to U.S. media outlets, the car is still slated to arrive in the U.S. eventually, but no timeline was given.
Here in Canada, the electric car is still slated to arrive in early 2026, Kia Canada officials said.
When it arrives, the EV4 will be available with two battery options, with the base battery having a capacity of 58.3 kWh, while the long-range models would get a capacity of 81.4 kWh.
The car is expected to have both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive versions.

Hyundai Palisade NHL Edition
This vehicle mention is a bit of a stretch on this list as the Hyundai Palisade Hybrid NHL Edition is not really a different vehicle from anything that’s sold in the U.S.
Instead, its a unique trim for the Palisade, but this trim is exclusive to hockey-loving Canada.
Hyundai will sell just 500 Palisade Hybrid NHL Edition SUVs in Canada during the 2026 model year. It has an MSRP of $68,899.
The unique model is powered by the Palisade’s hybrid powertrain with 329 hp and has a variety of exclusive appearance elements.
The SUV has an exclusive Creamy White matte exterior colour and a grey charcoal Nappa leather interior.
Other elements include Luxwood door sills, branded carpet mats, centre wheel caps, and TuxMat floor liners and cargo tray, all of which feature the NHL team logo of the customer’s choice. These elements are also made by Canadian companies.
Buyers of these NHL Edition SUVs also get an exclusive Hyundai x NHL-branded Yeti Roadie 32 wheeled cooler, and will be entered in a draw for a chance to win a trip for two to a 2026 Stanley Cup Final game.
