Mercedes-Benz has pulled the plug on its compact electric SUV.
The EQB will be discontinued in North America at the end of the 2025 model year and sales of the EV are expected to wrap up in Canada by the end of this year, the automaker told this blog.
“The EQB has reached the end of its North American lifecycle and therefore will no longer be offered in Canada,” Mercedes-Benz Canada said in an email.
“Mercedes-Benz remains fully committed to electrification and the largest product offensive in the history of Mercedes-Benz is just around the corner. From 2025, we will be renewing our entry into the world of Mercedes-Benz with a family of new generation cars and SUVs built on the new Mercedes Modular Architecture (MMA) platform, starting with the all-new all-electric CLA.”
The EQB launched for the 2020 model year.
As of this writing, the EQB still appears on the Mercedes-Benz Canada website, but the configurator is showing up with some errors.
For 2025, the EQB had two powertrain options, the EQB 250+ and EQB 300 4MATIC.
The EQB250+ version came front-wheel drive and an estimated driving range of 404 kilometres, while the EQB 300 got all-wheel drive and an estimated range of 330 kilometres.
The electric SUV was available with a standard two-row, five-seat configuration or an optional three-row, seven-seat setup.
The 2025 EQB 250+ had a starting Canadian manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $59,990, with a five-seat setup, and the optional third row added $1,100 to the price tag.
At that price, that made it one of the cheapest three-row EVs available in Canada. Only the Hyundai Ioniq 9 and Kia EV9 beat that and just barely.
More information on the EQB is available on the Mercedes-Benz Canada website.
