The upcoming Porsche Cayenne Electric will be a tech-lover’s paradise.

Porsche is continuing to tease out new details about the upcoming electric SUV and unveiled the features of the model’s interior.

The headline-grabbing features, of course, are the numerous screens that take over the SUV’s dashboard.

Porsche said the new Flow Display is the company’s largest display ever.

Flow Display

The Flow Display features a curved OLED display that flows into the centre console.

There’s also a 14.5-inch OLED digital instrument cluster, as well as an optional 14.9-inch passenger display and an optional head-up display.

The passenger display gives the passenger access to a variety of entertainment, app control, video streaming, including during driving.

Porsche said the entirety of the screen real estate, including the optional displays, provides an effective display size of 87 inches.

“The aim of redesigning the screens’ digital content was to create an even more immersive and intense connection between driver and sports car,” said Ivo van Hulten, director, driver experience at Style Porsche, in a news release.

The Cayenne Electric’s digital experience is enhanced with an AI-powered voice assistant.

Voice commands can be used to control functions such as climate, seat heating, ambient lighting, mood modes and more.

Comfort features

Besides the SUV’s ability to take voice commands for numerous functions and for passengers to play video games while the vehicle is in motion, the upcoming Cayenne Electric will have numerous comfort and luxury features.

There’s more interior space than in the current Cayenne and the rear seats are electronically adjustable to allow for flexibility of comfort and cargo space.

There’s a sliding panoramic roof with variable light control. It’s also the largest glass sunroof fitted on a Porsche. The front section can open like a classic sliding roof while the entire surface can switch from clear to matte via electrically controlled liquid crystal film. Occupants can also select semi-transparent modes, including semi and bold, which provide 40 and 60 per cent opacity.

The Cayenne Electric also has surface heating. This expands on typical heated seats, but also adds heating to other touch areas, such as armrests and sections of the door panels.

Porsche said this surface heating improves efficiency and distribution than conventional warm-air heating.

The Cayenne Electric will be available in 13 interior colour combinations as well as four interior packages and five accent packages. Porsche said this gives the EV unlimited individualization possibilities. Buyers can also choose from various material choices.

As for Mood Modes, Porsche said these create distinctive atmospheres with light, climate, sound and seat functions.

The Cayenne Electric is expected to be fully unveiled near the end of this year. For updates, visit the Porsche website.
