Porsche Cars Canada asked its centres (dealerships) across the country who could best restore and reimagine a first-generation Cayenne and the team from Vancouver, B.C. has taken top honours.
The company recently held its 2025 Porsche Classic Restoration Competition at Porsche Experience Centre Toronto, located in Pickering, Ont., where various category winners were selected.
This was the fourth such competition Porsche Cars Canada held the event since the inaugural year in 2019.
There were 17 Porsche Cayenne SUVs from the 2003 to 2010 model years entered into the contest, and multiple winners were selected, with the overall national title going to Porsche Centre Vancouver.
“Congratulations to the winners of this year’s Classic Restoration Competition,” said Trevor Arthur, president and CEO, Porsche Cars Canada, Ltd., in a news release “The skill and dedication that shines in each of these entries are testament to the unparalleled passion surrounding Porsche vehicles of the past and the future. There is no more appropriate setting to honour our brand’s heritage than our first official Porsche Experience Centre Toronto Cars & Coffee event.”
The event was held Sept. 14.
2025 winners
Without further ado, below are the various category winners, starting with the national champion.

National Champion – Porsche Centre Vancouver
The Porsche Centre Vancouver team worked with a customer to turn a 2008 Cayenne Turbo into an overland vehicle with Gulf Racing-inspired livery containing a map of British Columbia.

The interior was also customized using Cohiba leather upholstery accented by black, white and orange pepita fabric.
Other mods include a Racetex roof lining embossed with the Porsche crest and custom floor mats.
The project took about 1,000 hours as it also included a mechanical refresh, suspension upgrades and the addition of overland accessories such as a roof rack, winch and auxiliary lighting.

Best in East – Porsche Centre Lauzon
The team from Lauzon, Que. Turned a 2008 Cayenne S into an overland vehicle.
This entry included a three-inch suspension lift, custom wrap, heavy-duty tires, roof-mounted utility gear, and a remote-controlled lighting system.

Best in West – Porsche Centre Victoria
The Victoria, B.C. Team took a 2008 Cayenne Turbo and collaborated with Coast Salish artist Luke Maston to create a project with West Coast cultural heritage. Cultural storytelling through art includes Orcas that travel within family pods, a raven and the sun on the hood and a roof rack with a custom-built and painted dugout race canoe.

Marketing Award – Porsche Centre Québec
The team from the Québec City-based dealership worked on a 2004 Cayenne Turbo and equipped it with oversized tires, a roof rack, and rally lights to blend raw performance and refined esthetics. The project required restoration and to transform the SUV into an expedition machine.

Popular Vote Award and Attendees’ Choice Award – Porsche Centre Markham
The top vote-getting team was the Porsche centre from Markham, Ont. The general public was able to vote on their favourite project on Instagram, while guests at the Cars & Coffee event picked their favourite project from the 17 presented the day of the event.
This Markham team restored a 2009 Cayenne and gave it upgraded wheels and tires, a Bilstein suspension system, underbody skid plates, a powerful winch, and a custom-built storage compartment, all with the intention of enhancing the vehicle’s off-road ability and supporting long expeditions. The project was inspired by the Porsche Jagdwagen, a hunting vehicle.
