Porsche turns Macan EV into in-car arcade

The Macan electric SUV is getting new assistance systems and digital features starting with the 2026 model year.

The Porsche Macan all-electric SUV is getting a host of new digital features starting with the 2026 model year that should make the in-car experience a lot more entertaining for occupants.

The automaker announced new assistance systems and digital features, which are intended to increase convenience and to offer more entertainment functions.

Before we get to the assistance systems, let’s look at the entertainment upgrades.

In-car gaming

The Macan’s App Centre will give occupants access to third-party apps.

These apps include music streaming, podcasts, movies, gaming and more and the selection is constantly growing.

Games from Gameloft and Obscure Interactive are now available via the App Centre.

These games can be controlled with a Bluetooth controller or on the SUV’s touchscreens.

Additionally, AirConsole provides a variety of family games and classics that can be controlled via a smartphone.

Games can be played by everyone, including the driver, when the Macan is stationary, such as when stopped for charging, and games can be played together or individually.

An optional passenger display allows games to be played even when the vehicle is moving. Occupants can also connect a Bluetooth headset so they can listen without disturbing the driver.

Assistance systems

Assistance system upgrades include the Surround View system, which includes active parking support that utilizes four cameras for a 360-degree view around the vehicle.

Additionally, smartphones and smart watches can be uses as car key. Users will be able to access the Porsche Digital Key in their Apple Wallet or the apple wallet on Android devices. This function will allow owners to use their electronic devices for such tasks as locking and unlocking their vehicle, starting it or sharing the digital key with others.

The Voice Pilot system gets an upgrade featuring artificial intelligence, which can understand complex, interrelated questions and can recognize various statements and what they refer to.
