Infiniti revealed a trio of concept vehicles, two being based on the QX80 full-size SUV, and another based on the QX65 but reimagined to look more like the former FX sport utility vehicle.
The trio was unveiled in California during Monterey Car Week Aug. 15.
The three models, QX65 Monograph, and QX80 Track Spec and QX80 Terrain Spec, present what could be possible in Infiniti’s future.
Let’s take a quick look at each model, one-by-one.
QX65 Monograph
The QX65 Monograph channels the fastback roofline of Infiniti’s now-discontinued FX series of SUVs from the early 2000s.
Infiniti said this body style gives the vehicle a sense of speed, which is a core element of the company’s “Artistry in Motion” design language.
“QX65 Monograph is more than a concept – it’s a signal that Infiniti is moving decisively into its next era,” said Tiago Castro, vice president, Infiniti Americas, in a news release. “It builds on our rich legacy of innovation, pushes our design language forward and reinforces that we’re not slowing down. With QX65, we’re expanding our portfolio with purpose and shaping the bold, confident future of Infiniti.”

QX80 Track Spec
The first of the two QX80-based concept cars we’ll look at is the QX80 Track Speck.
The automaker said this version represents the ultimate street performance SUV and is designed to be a more thrilling and focused performance machine.
This model gets a new turbocharger system and a new exhaust, helping give it a lot more power, coming in at more than 650 hp and more than 750 lb.-ft. of torque. A standard QX80 has 450 hp. There are also other upgrades, including larger Brembo brakes up front.

QX80 Terrain Spec
The QX80 Terrain Spec concept is intended for overland enthusiasts, but without sacrificing luxury.
Ride height is higher, off-road wheels with all-terrain tires and durable fender flares are all part of the equipment.
There’s also a rooftop-mounted lightbar, pop-up tent, protective covers over the front and rear lower fascias and more.

“High performance and off-road capability are emotional entry points into how today’s drivers experience luxury,” Castro said in a separate release. “QX80 Track Spec and Terrain Spec reflect two distinct client mindsets – those who crave thrilling on-road performance and those who seek confident capability far beyond the pavement. These concepts embody Infiniti’s new, fast-to-market mindset – one that allows us to explore what resonates most with clients while accelerating our push into the premium SUV space.”
