Acura has unveiled the RSX Prototype, which previews the company’s upcoming all-electric performance SUV.

The production version of the Acura RSX is expected launch in the second half of 2026.

The prototype you see in the pictures wears the automaker’s Propulsion Yellow exterior paint, and follows the design language of the Acura Performance EV Concept, which was unveiled a year ago.

Acura said the production RSX is a significant step in its electrification strategy.

It is the first Acura vehicle engineered in-house based on Honda’s new EV platform. The RSX will also be the first EV produced at the Honda EV Hub.

The company said the RSX will be built on the same production line as the Acura Integra, which the automaker said proves its flexible production approach allows it to build vehicles with internal combustion engines, hybrid powertrains and battery-electric vehicles on the same production lines.

The RSX will feature dual-motor all-wheel drive, have a sport-tuned double wishbone front suspension, low centre of gravity and Brembo brakes as standard, delivering what Acura called a fun to drive and engaging driving experience.

The RSX will be a software defined vehicle, the first model running Honda’s ASIMO OS. This operating system is intended to learn the preferences and driving behaviours of its vehicle owner and deliver an ultra-personal in-car experience.

“The Acura RSX has a sporty coupe style that expresses the performance that comes from excellent aerodynamics,” said Yasutake Tsuchida, Acura creative director and vice president of American Honda R&D, in a news release. “Starting from this all-new RSX we will redefine the Acura brand around timeless beauty and a high-tech feel that is essential for a performance and unique brand.”
