Another two vehicles earn top IIHS safety awards

The 2025 Volvo XC90 Plug-In Hybrid and 2025 Tesla Model Y each earned the Top Safety Pick+ award.

The list of vehicles recognized in 2025 with safety awards from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety is growing.

The U.S.-based IIHS added another vehicle to its Top Safety Pick+ awards and moved up one from its Top Safety Pick rating to the higher Top Safety Pick+ rating.

The 2025 Volvo XC90 Plug-In Hybrid received the safety rating upgrade while 2025 Tesla Model Y was added to the Top Safety Pick+ list of recipients, the IIHS announced July 24.
