Ferrari has created a unique, one-off version of one of its sold-out supercars, and – if you’ve got deep enough pockets – it can be yours.
The Italian automaker created the exclusive Daytona SP3 Tailor Made.
This singular vehicle is added on top of the original allocation of 599 Daytona SP3 cars, all of which are sold out.
The unique car will be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s during California’s Monterey Car Week, which is running Aug. 9 to 17.

About the charity
All proceeds from the car’s auction will go to the Ferrari Foundation, a recognized charity in the United States.
The charity supports a variety of future educational projects.
It recently collaborated with Save the Children by contributing to the rebuild of the Aveson Charter School in Altadena, California, which was destroyed earlier by wildfire earlier this year.

About the car
The Tailor Made version of the Daytona SP3 is described as the pinnacle of Ferrari’s bespoke customization program.
The obvious customization is the two-tone livery, which includes Ferrari’s signature yellow, called Giallo Modena, plus exposed carbon fibre. The front splitter, sills and rear diffuser are in gloss black.
The Ferrari logotype, also in Giallo Modena colour, runs across the upper body, which is a first for the automaker.

The interior is unique as well, with fabric derived from recycled tires and a unique Prancing Horse motif.
The dashboard and steering wheel are also made of a version of carbon fibre that is used in Formula 1, Ferrari said.
The car’s number will be 599+1.

Power figure
The mid-engine car is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine with 828 hp (840 CV or Italian cavalli).
Zero to 100 km/h arrives in 2.85 seconds and zero to 200 km/h is achieved in 7.4 seconds, Ferrari said.

About the auction
The RM Sotheby’s website indicates the car’s value exceeds $3.5 million U.S. ($4.79 million Canadian).
The auction is open to people around the world, but the car is built for U.S. specifications. A non-U.S. buyer would be responsible for the necessary work and expenses to export it and make it road legal elsewhere.
More details on the auction are available on the RM Sotheby’s website.
