Mitsubishi has finally removed from its website what had been Canada’s cheapest new car available and the last remaining car with a starting price tag of less than $20,000.
The Mitsubishi Mirage was discontinued after the 2024 model year, but sales of last year’s units continued beyond the first half of 2025.
With a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $16,995, the base model came to a purchase price of $19,469 including fees and levies – that’s the before-sales-tax price.
Mitsubishi Motors Canada finally removed the 2024 Mirage from its website on July 17; however, the diminutive car is not completely sold out yet.
Limited stock available
There is still some limited stock left in Canada.
“The quantity is low enough that it’s not really fair for us to continue having a vehicle landing page on our website. Doing so might make consumers think they can get one at any dealership in Canada, when that isn’t really the case given the limited quantity remaining,” a company spokesperson told this blog via email.
Mitsubishi expects to fully sell out of Mirages within two to three weeks.
Interested buyers are advised to either speak with a local Mitsubishi dealer to see if they can still get the car locally, or they can visit Mitsubishi’s ClickShop online tool to see which dealers have stock remaining.
About the Mirage
The Mirage hatchback is a five-seater powered by a 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine with 78 hp. Combined city/highway fuel efficiency is rated at 6.2 L/100 km.
Once the Mirage is completely sold out, Mitsubishi will only have SUVs left in Canada.
“We feel strongly that the value-packed RVR is a great option for those previously shopping for a Mirage. It’s a subcompact SUV that starts at less than $25,000 and is packed with value,” the company said.
