Lucid has broken the Guinness World Records title for the longest journey by an electric car on a single charge.
Not only that, Lucid has bested the previous record by more than 10 per cent when it set the new record.
The automaker drove a Lucid Air Grand Touring model a distance of 1,205 kilometres on a single charge between St. Moritz, Switzerland and Munich, Germany, the automaker announced July 8.
The previous record was 1,045 kilometres, which Lucid bested by 160 kilometres. The previous record was set in June of this year.
The Lucid Air Grand Touring’s journey included alpine roads, highways and secondary roads, the automaker said.
“This range record represents a significant milestone – it’s yet another clear demonstration of the technological edge that defines Lucid,” said Eric Bach, senior vice president of product and chief engineer at Lucid, in a news release. “Our Lucid products combine world class vehicle efficiency with the most advanced drive units, ultra-high voltage architecture, and battery management technology available today, which lets a Lucid travel further with less energy than any other vehicles.”

Who drove?
The record-breaking drive was completed by Umit Sabanci and his team. The London-based entrepreneur is known for setting or breaking Guinness World Records titles.
He previously set the record for most countries visited in an EV on a single charge, managing to hit nine countries in a Lucid Air Grand Touring.
“When I completed the nine-country journey in 2024, it was just the beginning,” said Sabanci in the release. “This new achievement takes that journey even further. I’m proud to be part of a movement that proves electric mobility isn’t just the future; it’s already redefining what’s possible today.”
