Lotus is upgrading the performance levels of its lightweight mid-engine Emira sports cars in 2026 and expanding the lineup to include a new entry-level model as well as an even more expensive model.

The two new versions include the Emira V6 SE, which builds on the existing Emira V6, and the Emira Turbo, which is a new entry-level model that slots in below the existing Emira Turbo SE.

We’ll go over the two new models further down, but first let’s take a look at the improvements across the full model range.

All Emiras improved

Lotus said the entire Emira range is getting improved in 2026. There are no power upgrades, but various technical improvements that are said to improve track performance and daily comfort.

Lotus optimized the cooling system, with better flow to the transmission oil cooler and main cooling radiator, which results in more cooling and reduce vehicle weight.

The air conditioning control system has been updated to provide a more stable interior temperature at high temperatures.

The opening temperature of the engine thermostat was increased to 75 C, from 65 C, which Lotus said improves heating and performance under severe conditions.

Also, the dual-clutch transmission has been recalibrated to provide faster shift times, improved shift quality and a smoother interaction.

Emira V6 SE

The new Emira V6 SE builds on the Emira V6 and is powered by the same supercharged 3.5-litre V6 engine with 400 hp. A six-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential is standard or there’s an optional automatic transmission.

Zero to 100 km/h acceleration is reported in 4.3 seconds.

Lotus said the powertrain was refined, including a new compression mount for the manual gearbox for more precise gear changes.

The car also gets an optimized damper calibration and slight adjustments in wheel alignment for sharper handling and improved ride comfort.

The car has two defined chassis and suspension settings, with Tour intended for everyday road use, while Sports makes the suspension stiffer.

The Emira makes use of hydraulic steering, which should give the driver great road feedback.

Exclusive V6 SE features include specific badges, an extended Black Pack, 20-inch forged alloy wheels, red brake calipers and an interior finished in Alcantara and sports pedals.

The V6 SE can be had in 15 exterior colours, seven interior themes, four brake calipers finishes and eight wheel designs.

Emira Turbo

The new Emira Turbo is a base version of the Turbo SE.

It gets the same Mercedes-AMG-sourced twin-scroll turbocharged 2-litre four-cylinder engine, but this one produces 360 hp, versus 400 hp in the Turbo SE, and an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Zero to 100 km/h is said to arrive in 4.4 seconds versus 4 seconds in the Turbo SE.

The top speed is also slightly lower, at 275 km/h, versus 291 km/h.

The Emira Turbo also gets Tour and Sport driving modes and various high-performance components, including an integrated rear spoiler, and has electro-hydraulic power steering.
