
Kia Canada has announced the pricing of the hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions of its 2026 Sportage, which received updates for the incoming model year.
The two electrified models join the 2026 Sportage with a gasoline-burning internal combustion engine, which is already available in Canada.
“The refreshed 2026 Kia Sportage hybrid and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrains offer Canadians the eco-conscious, fuel-saving options they are looking for, while not compromising on safety and technology,” says David Sherrard, director of strategic planning at Kia Canada, in a news release. “With the addition of two new trims, families can select the Sportage that fits their uniquely adventurous lifestyles and needs.”
Canadian prices
The following are 2026 Sportage hybrid (HEV) prices:
- EX – $41,245
- EX Premium – $44,245
- SX – $47,745
The following are 2026 Sportage plug-in hybrid (PHEV) prices:
- EX – $46,245
- EX Premium – $49, 245
- SX – $52,745
The above prices are the MSRP, which doesn’t include various fees and levies.
The 2026 Sportage with an ICE powertrain has a starting MSRP of $31,995, which comes to approximately $34,830 with fees and levies.
Powertrains
The hybrid version, or Sportage HEV, is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged direct injection engine and a 47.7-kW motor with a combined 241 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. It includes a six-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
The Sportage PHEV is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged direct injectino engine with a 72-kW motor with a combined 261 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque. It also has a six-speed automatic transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
The HEV and PHEV models have a towing capacity of 2,000 pounds.
The gasoline-only Sportage is available in front-wheel and all-wheel drive and is powered by a 2.5-litre engine with 187 hp and 178 lb.-ft. of torque.
The 2026 Sportage received some styling tweaks, technology updates, including new dual 12.3-inch panoramic displays with standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto standard on all trims and an available 10-inch head-up display, more advanced safety features, new convenience features, new EX Premium trim on the hybrid model, new EX trim on the plug-in hybrid model, and more.
Canadian availability
The incoming Sportage HEV is expected at Canadian dealerships this month (June) and the Sportage PHEV is expected in the third quarter of 2025.
