Mazda Canada is offering a cash price discount on its MX-5 and MX-5 RF twin cars. The convertibles are still often called the Miata, the car’s original name.

The discount is available as of this writing, just as the weather is heating up for summer.

The incentive appears on both cars on the Mazda Canada website, with no indication of when the offer ends.

How big is the discount?

Both the 2025 MX-5 soft-top convertible and the MX-5 RF hard-top convertible get a discount offer of up to $3,000.

On the MX-5 soft-top convertible, the discount is $3,000 on all trims, except for the top-of-the-line 35th Anniversary Edition, which gets a discount of $1,500 instead.

The MX-5 has a starting MSRP of $35,100; that’s for the base model. Once you add fees and levies and take away the discount, the purchase price comes to $35,121.50, based on the Mazda Canada configurator.

On the MX-5 RF hard-top convertible, the discount is $3,000, regardless of trim.

The MX-5 RF has a starting MSRP of $42,100. With fees and levies added, minus the discount, the car can be had at a purchase price of $42,121.50, based on the Mazda Canada configurator.

The Mazda MX-5 and MX-5 RF are two-seaters with a 2-litre engine producing 181 hp and 151 lb.-ft. of torque and they have rear-wheel drive.

The cars come standard with a manual transmission, with automatics being optional.

The soft-top MX-5 also happens to be the least-expensive convertible in Canada and one of the cheapest two-door cars.
