2026 Honda HR-V gets more tech, styling tweaks

The entry-level SUV gets a bit of an update, gaining a larger touchscreen, wireless phone charger and other features.

Honda’s entry-level SUV is getting more standard tech and slight styling updates for the 2026 model year.

And you don’t have to wait as the 2026 Honda HR-V is already on sale in Canada. The starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $30,300, which comes to approximately $33,436 with fees and levies.

The crossover SUV is available in four trims in Canada, those being: LX (FWD and AWD), Sport (AWD) and top-of-the-line EX-L (AWD).

Here’s what’s new for 2026:

  • Refreshed exterior and interior styling details
  • Larger nine-inch HD touchscreen (two inches bigger) for LX and Sport trims
  • Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility (standard)
  • Wireless phone charger (standard)
  • Pewter Gray 17-inch alloy wheels (LX)
  • Berlina Black 18-inch alloy wheels (Sport – up from 17 inches)
  • Larger machine-finished 18-inch wheels (one inch bigger) (EX-L)
  • Solar Reflection Metallic and Boost Blue Pearl paint colours
  • Privacy rear glass now standard on all trims
  • Gloss black tailgate badging (Sport)
  • Silver steering wheel spokes (EX-L)
  • Dynamic climate control knob lighting (EX-L)
  • Front footwell lighting (EX-L)

“The HR-V has been a successful gateway to our brand offering proven value, reliability and fun to drive characteristics in a compact package,” said Emile Korkor, assistant vice president, Honda Canada, in a news release. “The upgraded features, advanced styling and more standard tech will enhance its appeal to Canadians looking for a vehicle that’s easy to park, with the cargo and passenger space they need.”

The HR-V is powered by a 2-litre four-cylinder engine with 158 hp and 138 lb.-ft. of torque.

The fuel economy rating is (city/highway/combined) 9.1/7.4/8.3 L/100 km for the front-wheel-drive model and 9.5/7.8/8.7 L/100 km for all-wheel-drive models.

Canadian pricing

Canadian pricing for the 2026 HR-V is as follows:

  • LX FWD – $30,300 ($33,436 with fees and levies)
  • LX AWD – $32,600 ($35,736 with fees and levies)
  • Sport AWD – $35,900 ($39,036 with fees and levies)
  • EX-L AWD – $38,700 ($41,836 with fees and levies)
