Right after launching the updated 2026 bZ electric vehicle, Toyota is introducing a more rugged version of the compact SUV.
Toyota has launched the first ever bZ Woodland model, which will be available starting with the 2026 model year.
All-wheel drive is standard on this version and the power output is 375 hp. Towing capacity is 1,588 kilograms (3,500 pounds).
Standard bZ models are available with 168 hp on front-wheel-drive versions and 338 hp on all-wheel-drive versions.
Like its platform mate, the Subaru Solterra, this Woodland version of Toyota’s electric SUV is lifted slightly to having 210 mm of ground clearance. Non-Woodland bZ models have 206 mm of ground clearance.
Where the bZ Woodland model loses is in driving range. The Woodland bZ has a 74.7-kWh capacity lithium-ion battery and an estimated 418 kilometres of driving range.
The estimated range on non-Woodland bZ units is 406 kilometres for the front-wheel-drive model, and between 430 to 460 kilometres for the all-wheel-drive versions, depending on trim.
The vehicle’s X-Mode function allows the driver to choose their drive models based on road conditions. The system also includes Grip-Control that can be used at low speeds to improve off-road grip. This feature is also available on the non-Woodland all-wheel-drive bZ models.

Other differences
At the front, the bZ Woodland gets full-width LEDs and wide, black overfenders.
The SUV is slightly bigger too, getting an additional 140 mm of length and 20 mm of height in the rear, resulting in a cargo area of 850 litres behind the rear seats.
The bZ Woodland comes standard with roof rails and it rides on unique 18-inch aluminum wheels with removable covers.
Toyota said the bZ Woodland is available in a single trim, but there is a Premium package that can be added. This equips the SUV with a JBL premium audio system, a fixed-glass panoramic roof, digital rear-view mirror, ventilated front seats and memory driver seat/side view mirrors, and optional all-terrain tires.

Modern tech
The Woodland includes many of the same modern features as other bZ vehicles, including a 14-inch infotainment touch screen, dual wireless charging pads, the Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 suite of driver safety and assistance features, and more.
The Woodland also has four USB-C charging ports throughout the cabin, dual Bluetooth phone connectivity SofTex-trimmed front and rear heated seats with power adjustable front seats. Seating colours are woodsy with Stone Brown and Black available.
The bZ Woodland is expected to be available in Canada in early 2026. Pricing will be announced closer to the launch date.
