Korean automaker is globally debuting a high-performance concept car in Canada.
The recently unveiled Genesis G70 Track Day Special Concept will debut in Canada with a cross-country tour.
The tour begins at Genesis Markham on Thursday, May 22.
After its initial display at the Markham, Ont. dealership, the car will make stops at various Genesis distributors across Canada during the remainder of 2025.
“Automotive luxury should be synonymous with high performance capability,” says Eric Marshall, director of Genesis Motors Canada, in a news release. “We are looking forward to showing our honoured guests in Canada a new side of our brand. We’ve been preparing for this next evolution of Genesis around the world, and on some of the most challenging tracks, notably the Nürburgring. Now it’s time to show Canadian guests and our distributors a preview of the next era of Genesis through the G70 Track Day Special Concept – an exploration of what is possible when it comes to high performance motoring, the Genesis way.”

What is this special concept car?
The G70 Track Day Special Concept is a one-off project car.
It is based on the Genesis Track Taxi Nordschleife, which itself is based on the Genesis G70 sport sedan.
The Track Taxi Nordschleife car was built and fine-tuned for Germany’s famed Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack.
The “taxi” car was created to take passengers for a high-speed run around the track, which is also called the Green Hell, with a professional driver behind the wheel.
The G70 Track Day Special Concept runs on the same suspension setup, wheels and tires as the Track Taxi. It also has additional extra body enhancements such as hood air vents and front and rear tow cables. There’s also a massive rear wing.
The Track Day Special also reverses the colour scheme of the Track Taxi car, with the Track Taxi having black graphics on an orange body, the Track Day Special has orange graphics on a black body.
Can you buy it?
You cannot buy the Track Day Special as it is only a concept car.
However, you can buy the Genesis G70 it is built on. This sedan is available with either a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine or a twin-turbo 3.3-litre V6 engine. Both powertrains are paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and have all-wheel drive.

Where will it be next?
After its stop at Genesis Markham, the G70 Track Day Special Concept will make an appearance at Genesis Yorkdale in the North York area of Toronto on Thursday, May 29.
After that it will be in the Maple area of Vaughan, Ont. in early June.
