Porsche says it intends to offer the highest performance possible, but in this case it is referring to the digital experience in its sports cars.

The automaker announced infotainment tech updates beginning with the 2026 model year for the company’s 911, Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne vehicles.

To start, the company has revised the Porsche Communication Management (PCM) system, which is now more responsive, with more computing power, and now offers direct access to third-party apps. The company is also including the Porsche Connect package for 10 years, to ensure a reliable digital experience.

Porsche is also launching the Porsche App Centre, which offers direct access apps in different categories, similarly to how you can install apps on your smartphone. This will allow owners to download popular apps for streaming music, video, podcasts, news services, weather and more.

The automaker is also adding the Porsche Voice Pilot via Amazon Alexa. This digital assistant can be used while driving, allowing you to control smart home functions such as automatic garage doors or home light, or you can research information, create shopping lists and more. The digital assistant can also be used to control supported third-party apps. Just speak “Alexa” and tell your digital assistant what you want it to do.

The four cars will also gain Dolby Atmos sound technology on cars equipped with high-end audio systems from Bose and Burmester. The intent of this system is to create an immersive and spatial sound experience for occupants.

“Passengers can feel almost as if they are sitting in the middle of an orchestra – or even that they themselves are the protagonist of an audio play,” Porsche said in a news release.
