Bugatti Automobiles says the first customers of its Tourbillon are now putting their personal touches on the new hypercar.

Bespoke one-on-one configuration sessions have opened at the company’s historic home in Molsheim, France, the company announced March 20.

The automaker further added that these customers can choose from more personalization options than before, including selecting a new “Équipe Pur Sang” package, which pays tribute to the car’s performance and Bugatti’s motorsport history.

“With each new era of Bugatti, we seek to honour our heritage while pushing the boundaries of what’s possible,” said Bugatti managing director Hendrik Malinowski in a news release. “The Tourbillon already represents an unprecedented fusion of naturally aspirated power and electrification – a hyper sports car conceived for eternity.”

Équipe Pur Sang

“Équipe Pur Sang” translates to “Thoroughbred team.” The package is intended to honour the legacy of Bugatti’s historic racing division.

The package includes a variety of elements to enhance the car visually and its performance.

It includes a dedicated front splitter, which works in harmony with a bespoke rear wing, to improve aero efficiency. It also includes an eight-pipe exhaust system and a specialized rear diffuser to further enhance aerodynamic efficiency and to improve downforce.

Newly designed wheels – 20 inches up front and 21 inches in the rear – feature a design that reduces turbulence and enhances airflow to the rear radiator.

Inside the cabin, there are unique embroidery elements on the dashboard and seat headrests, with logos honouring Bugatti’s racing history.

There are other options available with the package, including performance seats, Black Poli interior trim arts and a carbon fibre interior package.

Co-creation

Customers can begin their co-creation journey at Château Saint Jean in Molsheim or at a Bugatti retailer. They can choose from a large list of options to build a car that reflects their personal taste.

“The configuration experience is unlike any other in the automotive world. Our customers are welcomed to configure their cars as part of the Bugatti family,” Malinowski said in the release. “With the guidance of our designers and experts, each with a deep understanding not just of the Tourbillon but also of the achievements that have shaped our marque for 115 years, they make decisions that will define their Tourbillon for their ownership and for generations to come.”

What powers the car?

Bugatti plans to build a total of 250 of these cars, each of which will be hand-assembled Bugatti Atelier in Molsheim, France.

The car is powered by a hybrid powertrain featuring an all-new naturally aspirated 8.3-litre V16 engine that can spin up to 9,000 rpm. The engine alone produces 1,000 hp (these are European horses, which translates to 986 hp by Canadian/North American standards).

Then there are three electric motors, two at the front and one at the rear, producing another 800 hp (789 hp in Canada).

In total, the car produces 1,800 European horses, or 1,775 hp by North American measurements.

The car is launching for the 2026 model year and the starting price is 3.8 million euros.
