Subaru Canada has announced the pricing for the newly launched hybrid version of its Forester SUV.
The 2025 Forester e-Boxer Hybrid is available in just one trim level and it happens to be the Premier trim, which is the most expensive grade in the Forester lineup.
The Canadian starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price for the Forester e-Boxer Hybrid Premier model is $47,995, which with fees and levies comes to approximately $50,843.
The non-hybrid Premier model has a starting MSRP of $44,995, while the base Convenience trim has a starting MSRP of $33,495.
The e-Boxer Hybrid model features a powertrain with a 2.5-litre Atkinson-cycle boxer engine and transaxle paired with an electric motor-generator and traction motor. The electric motor gets its energy from a high-capacity lithium-ion battery.
Total system power is 194 hp.
As one would expect with a Subaru vehicle, the hybrid Forester has symmetrical full-time all-wheel drive.
Standard features on the e-Boxer Hybrid Premier model include Subaru’s EyeSight Driver Assist Technology, and an 11.6-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility and there’s an available 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster.
The Forester has 220 millimetres of ground clearance, which is high for this size of SUV, yet it has a low step-in height, Subaru said.
The SUV includes X-Mode with Hill Descent Control, active torque vectoring and vehicle dynamics control.
It also includes the newest version of the EyeSight system, which is said to be smoother and quicker and can operate under a greater range of conditions than previous versions.
EyeSight can identify cyclists and pedestrians at intersections sooner and, when necessary, alert the driver and apply brakes to avoid collisions.
Other active safety features include reverse automatic braking and blind-spot detection with lane change assist and rear cross-traffic alert.
The e-Boxer model also includes Emergency Stop Assist. If the driver becomes unresponsive to warnings while using advanced adaptive cruise control, the system will stop the vehicle, turn on the hazard lights and unlock the doors, and Subaru Starlink Connected Services will call emergency services.
Estimated pricing and the MSRP are as follows:
- Convenience – $36,333 (MSRP of $33,495)
- Touring – $41,333 (MSRP of $38,495)
