Subaru has launched a special edition of its BRZ sports car that is limited to 100 units in Canada.

The 2025 BRZ 紫 Murasaki Edition is built off the car’s performance-focused tS trim.

Murasaki is the Japanese word for purple.

Just as the name would suggest, the car comes in just one exterior colour, purple, which the company calls Galaxy Purple Pearl.

The 2+2 rear-wheel-drive coupe is powered by a 2.4-litre boxer engine with 228 hp and a close-ratio six-speed manual transmission is the only transmission available.

The Murasaki Edition gets Brembo high-performance brakes with gold-painted calipers and Hitachi-Astemo front dampers for improved stopping power and driving dynamics, Subaru Canada said.

There’s also a side exterior graphic kit, a low-profile spoiler finished in gloss black and 10-spoke 18-inch aluminum alloy wheels finished in silver.

The car also has an STI flexible V-bar under the hood for added stiffness for improved performance.

On the inside, the car gets grey accents on black leather with Ultrasuede seats and door panels along with grey accent stitching elsewhere in the cabin.

There’s also a 紫 Murasaki Edition badge in front of the shifter, which outlines the car’s unit number out of 100.

The 紫 Murasaki Edition has a starting manufacturer’s suggested retail price of $39,295 and is on sale this spring.
