The Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year awards program has crowned a winner for 2025.

The winner is the Hyundai Santa Fe.

The WWCOTY 2025 overall winner was announced March 6, two days before International Women’s Day.

The recently redesigned Hyundai SUV was selected as the overall winner from a field of six category winners.

The category winners were:

  • Urban model – Mini Cooper
  • Compact SUV – Kia EV3
  • Large car – Audi A6 e-tron
  • Large SUV – Hyundai Santa Fe
  • 4×4 and pickup – Toyota Land Cruiser
  • Performance and luxury car – Porsche Panamera

The WWCOTY 2025 also honoured BYD with the best tech award and Volvo with the Sandy Myhre Award for the most committed brand for women.

The 2025 awards program, the 15th edition of WWCOTY consists of 82 women automotive journalists from 55 countries and five continents.

To be considered for this year’s awards, the vehicles must have been launched between January and December 2024 in at least two continents or 40 countries.

The organizers of the award said each category winner represents excellence in safety, driving, technology, comfort, efficiency, environmental impact, value for the money and gender equality.

“The work of the juries has not been easy because this year there have been more contenders than ever before. There are new brands and models with an ever-increasing quality,” said Marta García, president of the Women’s Worldwide Car of the Year, on the organization’s website. “No vote has been given at random. They have all been subjected to demanding test drives, detailed analysis and demanding competitor studies. That’s why the WWCOTY awards are a benchmark for millions of buyers around the world.”

More information on the awards program is available on the WWCOTY website.
