Ford’s supercar, the Mustang GTD, will be appearing at the 2025 Canadian International AutoShow, and it doesn’t have far to get there.
That’s because the Mustang GTD is partly built at Markham, Ont.-based Multimatic. So, it just needs to be driven down Highway 404/Don Valley Parkway to the Gardiner Expressway and off in downtown Toronto for the auto show.
The auto show will run from Feb. 14 to 23 at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre.
The Mustang GTD is a rare vehicle, inspired by the track-only Mustang GT3 racetrack. It is powered by a supercharged 5.2-litre V8 engine producing 815 hp.
More impressive than power figures is the fact that the Mustang GTD is the first American production car to lap Germany’s famed Nürburgring Nordschleife racetrack in less than seven minutes, coming in with a time of 6:57:685.
The Mustang GTD, like every current-gen Mustang, is built at Ford’s Flat Rock, Michigan assembly plant.
After that, it is transported to Multimatic where it is completed and becomes the GTD. Multimatic is the company that also built Ford’s GT supercar, as well as various other low-volume vehicles.
The car features advanced aerodynamics and state-of-the-art semi-active suspension as well as other go-fast bits.
Ford will also be presenting a host of other Ford and Lincoln vehicles at the Toronto auto show.
Among the most recently launched Ford vehicles, you can expect to see:
- Ford Expedition
- Ford Bronco Sasquatch
- Ford Maverick Hybrid AWD
- Ford Maverick LOBO
- Lincoln Navigator
- Ford Mustang eBike
