It appears there are a lot of people lining up to buy high-end Italian sports cars as Ferrari has reported 2024 was its best sales year yet, surpassing the previous year’s sales totals by 0.7 per cent.

The company shipped 13,752 vehicles globally in 2024.

That is up by 89 vehicles over 2023 totals, the previous best-selling year, when the company shipped 13,663 vehicles.

“Quality of revenues over volumes: I believe this best explains our outstanding financial results in 2024, thanks to a strong product mix and a growing demand for personalizations. On these solid foundations, we expect further robust growth in 2025, that will allow us to reach one year in advance the high-end of most of our profitability targets for 2026,” said Ferrari CEO Benedetto Vigna in a news release to investors.

The company broke down 2024 sales numbers by region. Those include:

  • Europe, Middle East and Africa – 6,204 (up two per cent over 2023)
  • Americas – 4,003 (up five per cent)
  • Mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan – 1,162 (down 22 per cent)
  • Rest of Asia-Pacific region – 2,383 (up four per cent)

Ferrari said the increase in deliveries was driven by the Purosangue, Roma Spider and 296 GTS, while shipments of the SF90 XX family of vehicles and the 12Cilindri began in the second half of the year.

Ferrari said total vehicle shipments included 10 models with internal combustion engines and six hybrid models, representing a split of 49 and 51 per cent of total shipments, respectively.

The automaker also made mention of what will likely be Ferrari’s first electric vehicle, expected to be revealed Oct. 9.

“Last year’s results reflect a great teamwork that involved all our company’s souls. This teamwork was also visible in a very competitive racing season,” Vigna said in the release. “The will to progress that has always characterized Ferrari has led to innovation in our infrastructure, with the inauguration of the e-building; in our products, best highlighted by the new supercar, the Ferrari F80; and in R&D, with the new E-Cells Lab that will further strengthen our electrochemical knowledge to prepare us for the future. And we will reveal more of our future on 9 October at our Capital Markets Day.”
