The Mazda Legends campaign began as a post-pandemic program to support small businesses but became more than that since.

Mazda Canada’s charitable post-pandemic campaign has distributed more than $3 million to community programs since 2021.

The ongoing Mazda Legends campaign is put on by the automotive company and its dealers.

“At Mazda, we are driven by a deep-rooted responsibility to uplift the communities we serve,” said Amy Fleming, Mazda Canada’s senior director and chief operating officer, in a news release. “We invest in local changemakers because we believe they are key to driving authentic, meaningful change; empowering those who are deeply connected to their communities helps us ensure solutions are relevant, sustainable, and tailored to the unique needs of each community.”

The initiative began following pandemic restrictions as a way to support small businesses across Canada. Since then, it has grown to an ongoing program intended to strengthen the resilience of communities.

It focuses on recognizing everyday heroes, with local dealerships appointed to decide where funds should be donated within their communities.

The program has supported initiatives that focused on youth well-being and development, tackled food insecurity and supported vulnerable populations.
