Cadillac has unveiled its first-ever electric V-Series vehicle, the 2026 Lyriq-V.

The automaker’s V-Series badge is designated for Cadillac’s high-performance model.

The Lyriq-V also happens to be the quickest Cadillac ever with an estimated zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint time of 3.3 seconds.

“V-Series captures the spirit of Cadillac, embodying our relentless pursuit of engineering excellence through our racing and production vehicles,” said John Roth, vice president, global Cadillac, in a news release. “Lyriq-V takes this commitment a step further in the EV era, pushing our performance pedigree of V-Series to new heights with a powerful, personalized and high-tech driving experience that fits perfectly into our customers’ lives.”

So, what makes it tick?

The Lyriq-V is based on the Lyriq electric SUV. It features dual-motor all-wheel drive with an estimated 615 hp and 650 lb.-ft. of torque. The estimated acceleration time of 3.3 seconds arrives when the SUV’s Velocity Max feature is activated.

The model also gets continuous damping control, which was specifically calibrated for the V-Series Lyriq, as well as a multi-link suspension and a quicker steering ration over the standard model.

The automaker said its development team was able to improve the suspension to achieve the right level of precision and isolation.

Besides having gobs of asphalt shredding power and canyon-carving handling chops, the Lyriq-V can be taken on a journey. It has an estimated driving range of 458 kilometres thanks to a 102-kWh battery pack.

The Lyriq-V features a 33-inch diagonal LED screen, standard Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology with a three-year trial included and a multi-layered sound experience that mixes interior and exterior sounds. Brembo front brake calipers, which are said to be fade-resistant, are standard.

Drivers can also select Competitive Mode, which activates traction management features meant to increase the vehicle’s agility.

The Lyriq-V also has some unique exterior elements, including carbon fibre accents, a unique chin spoiler and rockers, V-pattern mesh on the lower front grille, the V-Series logo on the rear doors and tailgate, 22-inch wheels with a dark finish and etched with the V-Series logo and more.

The Lyriq-V comes standard with a black painted roof and is available with an exclusive, limited colour, Magnus Metal Frost.

The Lyriq-V will be built at General Motors’ Spring Hill manufacturing plant in Tennessee with production starting early this year. It will be sold in Canada, the U.S. and elsewhere.
