
Swedish car brand Volvo had a record year for sales in Canada in 2024.
Volvo Car Canada sold 13,404 vehicles through the year, which was an increase of 4.2 per cent over the preceding year.
The company also increased electrified vehicle sales by 38.2 per cent over the previous year by selling 6,178 fully electric or plug-in hybrid models. This represents 46.1 per cent of all vehicle sales for the company.
“On behalf of Volvo Cars Canada, I want to thank our customers for their continued trust in our brand and products,” said Matt Girgis, managing director, Volvo Car Canada, in a news release. “I’d also like to thank our dedicated retailers for their commitment to meeting the needs of our customers, playing a vital role in achieving these results.”
The company’s best-selling model in Canada was the XC60, which represented 35 per cent of total vehicle sales, with the XC40 coming in second at 26 per cent and then the XC90, which accounted for 20 per cent of the company’s vehicle sales.
Volvo Car Canada Ltd. is headquartered in Richmond Hill, Ont. and has a network of 37 dealerships in Canada.
