Kia has refreshed its EV6 electric vehicle for the 2025 model year, with a host of updates and performance upgrades.
The updated model was unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show on Nov. 21.
“We are incredibly proud of the success the EV6 has achieved since its launch,” said Steven Center, COO and EVP, Kia America, in a news release. “The EV6 represents Kia’s forward-thinking approach to electrification, and with this refreshed model, we are excited to build on that success by offering even more style, technology, and features that our customers will love. We can’t wait to see how this next chapter of the EV6 continues to drive excitement and push boundaries in the EV market.”
The 2025 EV6 takes on the automaker’s “Opposites United” design language, featuring such elements as a horizontal interior theme and a curved integrated display.
You won’t mistake it from the current EV6, but you’ll see what Kia calls a sportier edge.
The headlights also take on what Kia calls a Star Map shape, and the side profile gets some slight tweaks as well.
The wheels, measuring 19 to 21 inches, also get new design.

On the interior, occupants will find the horizontal design theme for what should be a wide, open feel, as well as a driver-centric layout.
There are dual 12.3-inch display screens for the gauge cluster and infotainment, a new D-shaped steering wheel, updated centre console for what Kia calls an elevated, high-tech, sporty look.
Performance
Now to the goods, the propulsion system.
The standard models get a standard 63-kWh battery and a rear motor producing 167 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque.
Buyers can also choose an 84-kWh battery, which also features a rear motor making 225 hp and 258 lb.-ft. of torque, and gives the EV6 a targeted range of 513 kilometres (319 miles) on Light LR, Wind and GT-Line trims in rear-wheel-drive configuration.
There is a more powerful all-wheel-drive option available, featuring dual motors and a combined 320 hp and 446 lb.-ft. of torque.
Moving on up to the EV6 GT, the dual-motor system produces 601 hp and 545 lb.-ft. of torque. When GT mode is activated, power rating shoots up to 641 hp and 568 lb.-ft. of torque. (The 2024 EV6 GT maxed out at 576 hp and 545 lb.-ft. of torque.)
The GT also gets a virtual gear shift feature, which simulates gear shifts.

Charging
The EV6 has an ultra-fast 800-volt DC charging system and the charge port has been relocated to the rear left fender (except on the GT model) and is compatible with the North American Charging Standard (also known as Tesla Supercharger) port.
Technology
The EV6 gets Kia’s next-generation Connected Car Navigation Cockpit OS, featuring over-the-air updates. These updates can support the powertrain, navigation, advanced driver assistance systems and more.
There are also digital features and services to improve the in-vehicle entertainment and connectivity, Kia said, including video and music streaming, gaming and Wi-Fi hotspot.
Digital Key 2.0 is also part of the package, allowing drivers to lock, unlock and start their vehicle via smart devices or an NFC-enabled smart card. The system supports key sharing.
Various assistive safety features are also part of the 2025 EV6 model range.

The EV6 is assembled at West Point, Georgia, except for the GT model.
The 2025 model is expected to go on sale in the first half of next year.
