Genesis has unveiled the redesigned GV70 and Electrified GV70.

The new versions of the updated SUVs will be launching for the 2026 model year and are expected to arrive at dealerships in the first half of 2025.

The company says the new GV70s follow the company’s “Athletic Elegance” design philosophy.

The new models include a dual-weave mesh radiator grille and two-line headlamps.

The front end also has a bolder skid plate for what Genesis calls a robust stance and a sporty appearance.

Newly redesigned wheels measure 19 or 21 inches.

The interior of the twin SUVs is said to infuse technology and a Korean-inspired design principle of the Beauty of White Space.

On the interior, occupants will find a 27-inch OLED display, which integrates the gauge cluster and infotainment system into a single horizontal display.

The GV70 has four Nappa leather colour options and 10 exterior colours, while the Electrified GV70 has two interior colour options and six exterior colours.

“GV70 is our most popular model in North America, and we’ve welcomed over 85,000 customers into the GV70 family in just three short years,” said Claudia Márquez, chief operating officer of Genesis Motor North America, in a news release. “The newly redesigned GV70 and Electrified GV70 offer all of the utility and interior refinement of a great SUV without sacrificing the fun-to-drive character that Genesis vehicles are known for.”

The ride

The gasoline-burning GV70 is available with a pair of powertrains. One is a turbocharged 2.5-litre four-cylinder engine producing 300 hp, while the other is a 3.5-litre V6 twin-turbo engine with 375 hp.

The redesigned GV70 gets highway body motion control, which controls front and rear dampening when accelerating and decelerating. A road preview feature, which is returning, uses forward-facing cameras to read the road surface and control the vehicle’s electronically controlled suspension for optimized comfort.

The Electrified GV70 features an 84-kWh high-capacity battery that the automaker says will offer more driving range than the current model.

Additionally, the SUV comes with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) charge port and a Combined Charging System (CCS) adapter, allowing it to charge at NACS and CCS DC fast-chargers.

The experience

The GV70 has an available 16-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system with Beosonic technology for rich and immersive sounds, Genesis says.

There is also adjustable interior ambient lighting, triple-zone fully automatic HVAC and the wireless charging pad is said to be easier to access than before.

The SUV is also loaded with a host of safety tech, including a new steering wheel hands-on detection, improved lane follow assist and remote smart parking assist.
