Acura has unveiled its newest model, the ADX premium compact SUV, which has a similar mission to the Integra sedan, to be a lower-cost entry point to the brand.

Acura Canada says the SUV will have a price starting in the mid-$40,000s.

“The all-new Acura ADX is an exciting addition to our expanding lineup in Canada. Our latest performance-focused SUV will act as another gateway to our brand,” said James Marchand, assistant vice president, Acura Canada, in a news release. “The ADX is a premium compact SUV that targets a growing segment of buyers; it will appeal to a new generation of Acura enthusiasts.”

The ADX, launching as a 2025 model, is expected to begin arriving at Acura dealers next spring.

It’s powered by a turbocharged 1.5-litre VTEC engine. The automaker says the direct-injected engine uses a high-efficiency, high-response turbocharger, as well as low pressure-loss turbocharger piping, and a 4-2 exhaust port cylinder head to help maintain peak power over a broad range of engine speed. Acura didn’t release a power figure, but says the engine provides refined power and low-end torque.

The SUV features a youthful and sporty design on the inside and out, plus premium materials on the inside, and rides on what Acura calls an enhanced global platform with advanced body structure. The ADX measures 4,718 mm long.

The 2025 ADX will be available in three trims, each featuring an all-wheel-drive system that can send up to 50 per cent of engine torque to the rear wheels.

The interior features a dual-cockpit design and is available in two colour schemes, Ebony or Red/Ebony.

Acura notes that thanks to a low cowl, thin pillars and a large greenhouse, the SUV has exceptional outward visibility.

The front features heated and body stabilizing seats, intended to reduce fatigue over long drivers, while the rear gets air conditioning vents and 958 mm of legroom.

The cargo area, behind the rear seats, gets 690 litres of cargo volume. When the rear seats are folded flat, cargo space grows to 1,560 litres.
